Fotografie besteht aus vier Elementen: dem Thema, der Kamera, dem Film (oder Sensor) und dem Fotografen. Das, was später nachbearbeitet wird, oder manchmal während der Digital-Aufnahme entsteht, ist eine Verzerrung der Realität. Es ist eine persönliche Interpretation, abhängig von verschiedenen Faktoren, die in der Realität so ist, wie man es durch den Sucher sieht. Es ist in Ordnung, wenn man ein Bild nach den strikten eigenen Regeln darstellen möchte, aber man sollte nicht vorgeben, dass es ein ein echtes Bild ist. Ich hauptsächlich die Schwarzweißfotografie benutze weil sie zeitlos ist. Ein Schwarzweißfoto kann siebzig Jahre alt oder aus der heutigen Zeit sein, aber es bleibt in einer Art Limbus suspendiert. Und das mit den offensichtlichen technischen Unterschieden, bedingt durch die Technologie.

The elements for a picture are just four: subject, camera, film (or sensor), photographer. What is often done after, or sometimes throughout when shooting in digital, it's a distortion of reality. It's a personal interpretation, due to different factors, of something that in reality is as it is shown inside the viewfinder. It's ok if somebody wants to represent a picture by strict personal rules, but it should not pretend to be reality. I use mainly black & white because it's timeless. A black & white picture can be seventy years old or todays, but it remains suspended in a sort of limbo. Colour brings it up to date istantly. This with the obvious technical differences due to technology.

Gli elementi per una fotografia sono solo quattro: il soggetto, la fotocamera, il rullino (o il sensore) ed il fotografo. Quello che spesso viene fatto dopo, o alcune volte durante quando si scatta in digitale, è una distorsione della realtà. E' una interpretazione personale, dovuta a vari fattori, di qualcosa che nella realtà è come lo si vede all'interno del mirino. Va bene se si vuole rappresentare una immagine secondo canoni prettamente personali, ma non la si dovrebbe spacciare per la realtà. Uso prevalentemente il bianco e nero perchè è senza tempo. Una fotografia in bianco e nero può essere di settanta anni fa o dei giorni nostri, rimane comunque sospesa in una specie di limbo. Il colore la attualizza istantaneamente. Questo con le chiare differenze tecniche dovute alla tecnologia.
